Cfl New Agreement

The report states that the NFL did say no to the deal. Part of the problem between the leagues seems to be the language that only standard NFL player contracts lead to CFL players being released. These differ from nfl training plan agreements. It is believed that the NFL/NFLPA does not allow players to try with such a restriction. The current collective agreement between the CFL and the CFLPA was ratified on May 22, 2019. Early media reports listed highlights of the agreement from unsused sources, but the full text of the agreement was published in January 2020 (link below). The contract is valid for three years before the 2021 season and expires the day before the start of the 2022 training camp. This is not the first time the CFL and its players have disagreed. Last year, contract negotiations between the two parties were partially controversial ahead of the conclusion of a new three-year collective agreement. With Mark Cohon as commissioner of the League, the CFL has entered a phase of stability and growth. New television contracts, two new collective agreements, the 100th Grey Cup celebration and the complete renovation and reconstruction of stadiums have marked this era. The centennial of the Grey Cup saw the highest television ratings ever for a championship game in English Canada.

[11] The same scenario existed during discussions on the CBA in 2014, before a five-year agreement was finally reached. In late July 2012, NBC Sports Network acquired the rights to the CFL for the remainder of the 2012 season.
